October Randoms

Here's a lovely compilation of all the miscellaneous pictures from the month...

While I was in Vegas, Ben spoiled the kids - he's a fun dad!  Ice cream sundae night...

Paradise Bakery for lunch with dad - our kids are in love with their mac n cheese...

Jake was complaining that his room was too dark - so later we found that he had decided to set up his own space to sleep in the hallway..

Aunt Stefani and Uncle Aaron sent the kids a really fun Halloween box of surprises!  They were beyond thrilled!

I've been in charge of the class store in Emma's 3rd grade class - I collect donations from other parents and supplement the store myself as well - then once a quarter I get to come into Emma's class and set up a little store of goodies that the kids can spend their classroom money on (which they've earned for good behavior and completing assignments, etc)- It's been fun!

Getting the store organized  and priced at home is a big project...

One morning we found ourselves trying to stay occupied while our alignment was getting fixed on the van - we ended up walking to a nearby Subway for lunch - I really never know what each day will bring with the kids... everyday is different...

We took several trips to Goodwill to get items for Halloween costumes - I was so happy to have found a walker for 5 dollars!  Ben cut down the legs to make it a better height for Claire...

Claire likes to find unique places to watch tv - she set up a little bed in a suitcase while watching a movie in my room...

Claire is a ham...

Claire double fisting her favorite Halloween treat - suckers! (Can you spot the creepy daddy?)

Becca went on a field trip to a pumpkin patch with her 1st grade class...

Becca and her best friend, Natalie...

FHE treat one evening - two spoons are better than one!

Halloween 2013

I'm sad that I didn't get a nice group shot of all the kids in their Halloween costumes this year- but between all the October posts, you'll get the gist :)

Claire was an old lady!  She loved Trunk or Treat...

Emma was Kit Kittredge from American Girl and Becca was a princess.  All the kids picked their own costumes this year - except Claire of course - Ben and I took creative liberties on her 2 year old behalf :)

Poor Jake had the stomach flu during our Trunk or Treat night - we were rather horrible parents I think by still dragging the poor boy to the trunk or treat - but neither one of us wanted to miss out!  Jake had a movie, a pillow, and bucket and hung out in the car the whole time - stellar parenting right there!\

Ben manned the trunk and handed out candy to the ward kids - I followed the girls around as they collecting the goods...

I was HORRIBLE at taking pictures on Halloween night... I just have a few.  Carol and Clyde and Emily's family came to trick or treat in our neighborhood.  Emily was looking quite lovely...  :)

Sweet Emma...  She made a cute Kit...

After trick or treating, the kids watched Charlie Brown's Great Pumpkin and feasted on candy and goodies...

And thanks to my photographer friend Mel, and her fun adult's only Halloween party, I DO have proof that I dressed up this year.  My inspiration was the Mom Jeans SNL skit - Thank you Goodwill for a fruitful visit finding these clothing treasures I now get to keep forever...

Happy Halloween!!

Pumpkin Patch!

Jake's Preschool Halloween Party

Jake absolutely loves his preschool- his teacher and his friends there just make him so happy.  The only thing that makes Jake love preschool even more is if it's a party day!  Happy Halloween!

Jake and his best friend, Preston (aka Thor)

Jake and his favorite mommy ;)  Thanks for the nice face, bud...

Lining up to head outside for the Halloween parade...

This is the best group shot I could get :)

Pumpkin Carving

Pumpkin carving time!!  The kids always draw their faces on their pumpkins with a marker and then Ben carves them - I'm stuck on pumpkin gut removal duty...

Let's be honest... family pumpkin carving night turns into mom and dad doing all the hard work while the kids find other things to do... :)
