My Sunshine Singers!

My best friends, Carrie and Lynndsey, organized the most awesome performing group this summer!  I signed up Emma, Becca, and Jake and everyday for 2 weeks, they practiced their songs and did fun themed activities (like pajama day, silly sock day, cookie exchanges, etc) - at the end of the 2 weeks, they put on a performance for the families.  It was sooo adorable and my kids all had so much fun...

I loved that all the older kids had either speaking or solo singing parts.  Emma and Becca ended the show by introducing the last song.  I was so proud of them for having their parts memorized!

Here's some video clips from the evening...

July Summer Actvities

The kids LOVED the Sesame Street exhibit at the Science Center...

Cutest little grocer I've ever seen...

We went to this same exhibit in Utah 5 years ago!  Look how much the kids have grown!  And Jake and Claire were still in heaven :)

The kids were busy in July with lots of play dates and water activities.  They were especially entertained over at my fun friend Carrie's house... who knew you could fit 8 kids in that inflatable pool?!

We had a family night at Kierland - we got ice cream and the kids played in the fountains (in their regular clothes)...

They had a wet drive home...

We played at a splash pad with our friends...

And got donuts at Target!  haha

Summer is wonderful :)

San Diego Day 4 - Museums and Old Town

On our last day in San Diego we visited the Museum of Man in Balboa Park.  The building that it's in is beautiful!

Nope...

We think this hairy ape man looks like Jake...

The children's Egyptian area was really great!

The last exhibit we walked through was all about robotics and technology...

After the museum, Ben's family all headed home... but we apparently weren't ready to end the party just yet.  So, we drove to Old Town San Diego for a very yummy lunch...

Old Town was awesome!!!

This was where we ate lunch...

Getting some ice cream...

Ben's dream store!  We got 6 bottles of different root beer...

Root beer float face...

Right across the street is the Mormon Battalion Historic Site... so we had to stop in!

It was recently completely rebuilt a few years ago and it was soooo fun!!  All these pictures on the wall, all of a sudden started talking to us and the  kids (and Ben and I) were really amused...

The presentation about the Mormon Batallion takes you through several rooms, all with lots of interactive features.  It was really cool.  At the end, the kids could explore outside where they could pan for gold...

In the wagon out front...

Bye Bye San Diego!  You are lovely!
