Susan's First Trail Run!

I did a 12K trail run!  (about 7.5 miles)  I'm proud of myself!  haha...

Ben was a fun daddy and stayed back with the kids while I was running...  I have a fun and silly little support crew!

Emma's 9th birthday

My beautiful, smart, and clever Emma lou turned 9!  She's almost to double digits!  I can't believe it.  :)  For her birthday breakfast she chose the following...  Breakfast of champions!

She took donuts to school to share with her classmates as a birthday treat.  And after school, the goodies kept coming - we seem to be good at eating lots of sugary treats on birthdays and holidays- We made a chocolate sheet cake and the kids decorated with Emma favorites... m&m's and oreos...

We skyped with my family in Utah while singing Happy Birthday and opening gifts.  We miss my family so much, especially on special occasions like this.  It was so nice to have them with us - albeit over the laptop.

Present time!  Emma really loves clothes right now, so she got a lot of that!  And my family sent Emma lots of birthday money, which she used to buy more clothes!

And the big present was new bigger golf clubs - Our Emma is getting tall!

Later that week we went to a rock climbing gym as an Emma birthday outing - sadly the pictures I took there fell victim to my broken phone - these were all I could salvage...

On Sunday, we celebrated Emma's birthday at our house with her birthday twin, Uncle Peter!

This progression of candle blowing pics made me laugh...

Valentines 2014

I really love to make Valentines with the kids- this year though, I was tempted to buy the box of pre-made ones, but I'm glad I decided to stick with tradition.  We stayed up late and made them together, setting up an assembly line of sorts.  We turn up the music and it's so fun!  And we definitely eat a bunch of candy - "one for the Valentine, one for me!"

Jake's Valentines had monsters and said "I've got my EYE on you!"

The girls cards were covered with a ridiculous amount of hearts and said "Happy Heart Day"  :)

Valentines Day morning heart pancakes... (my breakfast was all the pancake 'scraps' leftover from the heart cookie cutter)

The kids had a fun and full day of sugar... ha!  And for dessert that night, Ben brought them home ridiculously huge chocolate cupcakes - they were soooo excited...

My Valentines flowers from my sweet Ben...

Ben and I celebrated our Valentines the day after- I had a whole day of pampering - getting my hair done, manicure, and facial - and then Ben and I went to dinner at our most favorite restaurant - Quiessence.  I'm lucky to have such a thoughtful and romantic Ben :)
