Christmas Eve turned out to be the best day of the year!! We met up with some of the family downtown for breakfast at Matt's Big Breakfast - it's been featured on Diners, Drive-in's and Dives and it was so delicious!
Then we headed to the Science Center.... again... we were just there the day before, but Ben convinced me we should go there again because we hadn't yet seen the National Geographic exhibit. I thought that was weird.... but we had fun!

So I soon found out why Ben was stalling - and why we opted to go all the way to downtown Phoenix for breakfast.... he had the BEST surprise awaiting me! And apparently the dealership had contacted him that morning that they needed another hour or so to have everything ready - that's why we headed to the Science Museum on a whim. I knew Ben was up to something for sure when we didn't get right on the freeway to head back home after the museum - we went to the dealership instead- only about 5 minutes way....
YAY!!! New van!!! My last van literally broke down on the side of the road because of a transmission problem - we got it fixed temporarily, but this was after dumping thousands and thousands of dollars into repeatedly fixing the thing during the 6 years that we owned it. I couldn't have been happier to see a brand new van for the kids and I to have - I happily left our dumb old van there at the dealership as part of a trade in deal - I still wonder what they did with the thing - I hope they sold it for parts and didn't swindle some poor family into owning that hunk of junk... haha...
I was the happiest I had been in a long while after that surprise! haha - that evening we went to Ben's parents house for Christmas Eve dinner, advent, and desserts...

Ben will love this photo! We stayed up LATE making our very favorite cinnamon rolls - we baked them the next morning, but they needed to refrigerate overnight...
