January Randoms

The month of January was a little light on pictures... partly because my phone took a dive into some soda (thanks to Claire) and I had a backlog of photos on there that I never uploaded to my computer.  So sad :(

Jake is a wild man - he spends a lot of his time playing outside barefoot.  One time after church, he apparently snuck past me and spent a while playing outside wearing socks.  We later discovered the sock damage...

More shocking however was the state of his feet once he removed his socks....

The thing we found most interesting was that the parts of his foot that were most filthy, weren't necessarily where the holes were.

I salvaged this one off my broken phone... the only evidence from the kids school fun run.  Claire liked to run laps with the kids too on fun run days, and after each lap they get a stamp on their arm - Claire was happily showing me her stamp she earned with a cute Natalie friend photo bombing :)

The weather in January is just lovely - so we try to spend a lot of time outside.  One Saturday, while Ben was working a weekend shift, I took the kids to the anthem park... we rode the train there for the first time and it was the highlight of the day...

I recommitted to running and decided it was time for new running shoes.  New running shoes are so fun!

While Ben was with Jake doing a Home Depot errand and project, I went with the girls to Paradise Bakery for a lunch out.  I really love these sweet and funny girls of mine....

Uncle Peter and Aunt Lacy got Jake and Ben a model rocket as a Christmas gift.  They assembled it together and we all went to some nearby open land to try to launch it off...

Claire and Becca were nervous and were staying far away back at the car to watch from a distance...

Unfortunately, launch day was a bust.  :(  That afternoon, Ben promptly went to ordering some new parts and a new rocket as well and hopes for a successful rocket launch in the near future!  :)
