Every morning we ate breakfast at the Corner Bakery Cafe across the street from our hotel. The kids got in the routine of ordering themselves HUGE cinnamon rolls - Emma ALWAYS finished every last bit of hers. I love this picture of Claire trying to smile for a picture with her mouth stuffed full of cinnamon roll...
Day 2 in San Diego was a nice switch from the theme park atmosphere. First we visited the Cabrillo National Monument. We walked through the visitors center and learned about explorers and then walked out to enjoy the gorgeous view of the harbor. We were all SO happy to be feeling the cool coastal breezes as we walked around outside... such a relief from the AZ heat!
Old Point Loma lighthouse...
Hanging out inside the lighthouse...
I need more of this in my life! Look how gorgeous and peaceful this is...
We walked down to the tidal pools... but we arrived at high tide, so it wasn't quite what we had hoped for... but it was still beautiful! And it was fun watching the waves hit the rocks...
After lunch we went to Moonlight Beach. It was awesome! All the kids were happy and the sand and water felt great!
The beautiful ocean is about the only part of California that I miss anymore. After a lifetime as a California girl I've completely adapted to Mountain life.
