Yay for San Diego!! I'd like to move there... wouldn't you? It was so wonderful to get out of the Arizona heat and enjoy the coastal San Diego temperatures. :) We were with all of Ben's family on this trip, and it was a great family adventure!
The first day of our trip we spent at Sea World. This was my very first time at Sea World - my favorite parts of the day were riding the Manta with Emma and riding Journey to Atlantis with Ben and Peter at 10:30 at night. But the shows were fun too! We avoided the splash zones, but really enjoyed watching other people get soaking wet. :)
We spent a short amount of time at the Sesame Street area - it was cute, but it seemed extra hot and crowded over there... and we lost Jake for about 15 minutes which freaked us all out. Every day has a down moment, and this was it for me. But Claire loved it! haha...
In line for one of the Sesame Street kiddie rides... it was after getting off this ride that Jake decided to run off to the ropes course area without telling anyone - so we had employees searching the area for us to find him when we realized we had lost him. Ugh. I was SOOO relieved when we found him! Ben spotted him and he got a good talking to. At that point we wrote our phone numbers with sharpies on all of the kids legs. When we went to the San Diego zoo later in the trip, Grandma bought all the kids matching bright yellow shirts - which greatly helped us keep track of our large crew...
Jake LOVED this walrus exhibit! He kept swimming in a loop and coming right up against the glass with his back. He was so huge!
Ford is very loved by his cousins!
Madagascar show...
Waiting for Shamu!
More cousin love :)
Some of our group went home at 10ish, and the rest of us stayed till closing at 11. Can't believe we lasted with our kids from 9am to 11! That's a job well done! We closed the day with hot chocolate :)
Here's our whole group....
Looks like a ton of fun, and oh that Jake, ran away to the ropes! Shamu, surprised he is still employed, assumed he had retired to the Galapagos Islands..
ReplyDeleteSea World looks new and improved. All of San Diego is pretty nice.
ReplyDeletePhone #s on the legs; great idea!! Matching shirts are a good idea too. That Jake!
