Science, Sweets, and Singing

I took the kids to the Science Center this week- we seem to only visit here once a year - someday I'd love to get season passes, because the kids really enjoy it.  Since we visit so infrequently, there's always something new to see that they've added since the last time we were there.  This outdoor water play structure was new...

Jake had a long way to go in order to create something like that tower next to him ;)

I always knew Jake had a big mouth...

On the outdoor terrace...

Apparently it's never too hot to want to run around outside...

After the Science Center, we drove down the street to our favorite ice cream stop...

I asked the waitress for glasses of water, and she brought kid cups for Becca, Jake, and Claire - but Emma got an adult cup.  She was THRILLED!  haha.  She says to me, "look!  she gave me a grown up cup!"

I love this place because it's so unique with all it's antiques and vintage charm...

Jake didn't want to leave anything to waste...

After ice cream, we wandered the little antique shop next door...

This is a random addition, but I don't know where else to squeeze it in: the next morning, the kids from our ward got to sing Primary songs to the Temple construction workers.  After the singing performance they all got donuts.  :)  The temple is coming along quite well next door to the church building - I'll have to get a picture soon.  There's been days where it's 115 degrees outside, and those guys out there are still working away.  They deserve way more than donuts, but it felt good for the kids to get to serve in this way.

  1. Wouldn't it be neat if you had season passes to all of these; the zoo, the water park AND the Science museum!! You would be set! You're practically running a school with that many kidletts anyway.
    It's fun to dream.
My favorite pics are; Jake getting the last drop from the ice cream dish and Emma with her big cup.
That was nice of the primary to sing to the workers. Thoughtful.
