Jake's Lego Party

It was Jake's turn this year for a big friend birthday party- he had a small party at the park with a few friends last year.  I decided that this year he could invite all his friends and have a BIG party since he's turning FIVE!  Well, we invited 12 kids (ages ranging from 3-6), and they ALL came!  haha.  It was a party all right.  Ben and I were seriously exhausted at the end of it.  But Jake was all smiles all day and this was the highlight of the year for him I believe - so I guess it was worth it!

Jake is currently obsessed with Legos - so we had a Lego themed party - it was fun to plan!  There a lot of great Lego party ideas out there to pick from...

Some pics from before the chaos of many kids started...

I braved making lego cakes - they took forever, even though they look simple- I'm not great with dealing with frosting.  There are Oreo's covered in frosting on top of the cakes for the lego pegs...

Coloring wall...

Favor bags for our many guests to arrive - and a jar of lego candies.  I put Emma in charge of collecting guesses from all the kids for how many candies they thought were in the jar - the winner got to take the jar home!

My not so perfect lego door- the red paper plates were flying off the door throughout the party - but I managed one pic of it all together...

Once the kids started arriving, they had the option to color on the lego wall or color blank lego men in the tv room - they could also build with legos or play Lego Avengers on the Xbox - not surprisingly the girls all chose coloring... haha...

Then we got serious with Lego bingo :)

The littlest girls bailed on bingo and played with Lego friends instead :)

Yes!  Cake time!

Jake was most excited for present time!  I didn't get pics of everyone- Present opening was chaotic to say the least - but Jake was truly spoiled...

Happy 5th birthday Jake man!!

  1. I agree. I think I'm going to steal your ideas for a Lego party for Tucker.
