Ben took Emma and Becca backpacking on July 3rd for an overnighter- in an area about 30 minutes past Strawberry, AZ. This was their first time testing out their new backpacks - I have cute and funny girls...

Ben said that is was pouring rain as they got a short ways into their drive on the way to the trailhead. He was really worried they'd have to cancel their backpacking trip - the girls were so sad about that prospect... but Ben said that as soon as they got to the actual trailhead, the rain was gone. They were all so relieved and happy! I'm glad that they were able to have this adventure together - they had the best time!
They accidentally came across a geocache near their camp! Grandpa Szymanski should be so pleased!
I think it's wonderful that you are introducing the kids to the outdoors.
