Jake wanted attention too :)
Ben was fixing some of our sprinklers/drip system in the front - it was springing leaks and watering plants that don't exist - anyway - it's impossible to resist catching Jake unaware and soaking him with water...
We went to IKEA this week after Emma was home from school - we were pleasantly surprised to discover that kids eat free on Tuesdays - lucky us that it was a Tuesday! So we enjoyed our heavily discounted dinner (since more of us are kids than adults... we are outnumbered... ahh!) - and we also bought some curtains for our bedroom - we chalked this up as more of a need, since next week Ben does a couple weeks of night float - he will somehow have to sleep at home during the day (I guess I'll taking the kids on outings a lot to keep them out of the house as much as possible) and we thought that darkening the room a bit would help. After dinner and shopping, we couldn't resist some ice cream and cinnamon rolls before heading home...
I thought to take some pictures of some of the sweet things Emma has made for Becca over the past week - they are such good friends. It makes me SO happy to see them show love to each other. :) Becca wanted to practice writing her last name (it's on her list of things she wants to master before starting Kindergarten) - Emma offered to help her and I found this worksheet that she had made and then corrected after Becca filled in the blanks. It's really cute...
After Becca had been riding her bike for a while, she of course injured herself a bit and really hurt her thumb (it's a few days later and it's still swollen and purple - she can move it though, so I guess we're not concerned that it would be broken)- anyway, Becca doesn't handle injuries well, and she was really sad about her thumb hurting. I later found this sweet card that Emma had written Becca and put on her pillow for her...
Doesn't that just melt your heart? I've got some sweet girls, yes I do. :)
Ouch Becca, I hope you are better soon and jump back on your bike. You are doing so well to be able to start and stop on your bike without any help help!
ReplyDeleteAnd poor Jake, he doesn't like getting wet. :(
The kids are doing so well with the bikes. Very sorry to hear that Becca got hurt though.
ReplyDeleteOur IKEA has free breakfast for anybody that wants to show up on a Monday morning. So far that hasn't enticed me.
You do have sweet kids!!! And they always looks so happy. I love that your girls are best friends. As much as I wanted a boy I was slightly sad Ava wasn't getting a sister close to her in age, but age doesn't matter when you love them and teach them to love one another I have decided.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Tell Becca that I have a scar on my leg from learning to ride a bike at about her age. I guess getting a little hurt was worth it. Even now, as an old grandma, I like to ride my bike.
