RUN and Eat Cake

Look look! Look what I did! I actually ran a half-marathon this morning! Wooeee! My time was 2:03:11 - My random goal was to get in under 2 hrs - SO close! So now I guess I have to train for another one to see if I can finish a bit faster. :) Running is a weird thing... for me, it's not really all that fun while I run (long distance anyway) - I get sweaty and ugly and tired and sore... BUT afterwards, I'm just SO happy with myself for actually doing it! And I like to feel like I'm doing something exciting to stay in shape... and somehow it's quite addicting - especially races. It's invigorating to get up early in the morning with hundreds of other runners and pin a number on my shirt and then RUN with the masses to see who can get the sweatiest and ugliest the most gracefully. :) I was happy to get to run this race with Kelly and Larissa from my ward - it was both of their first half-marathons as well - we did awesome, if I do say so myself... and I do.

AND running makes me feel a little less guilty about eating this...

As a family we went out to Buca di Beppo for dinner - the night before the big race. Mmmm... it was good. As you can imagine, my favorite was the cake. And once again we saw how much Jake likes his food. There is NOTHING he doesn't like to eat - even lemon wedges. :)

This afternoon Emma got her hair cut at Maria's hair salon - Emma hasn't had her hair cut (or even trimmed) in well over a year. It's just been growing and growing and getting tangled and shapeless. Now she really looks all grown up! I have such a beautiful 5 year old. :) Thanks Maria!

We ended our busy day with having Ben's family over for dinner, dessert, and some Beatles Rock Band... beep, beep 'm beep beep, yeah!
