Running.. and hiking... with kids!

It always feels good to run AND hike in the same day! Amy coined the term 'hoddling' when referring to hiking with toddlers, however... so maybe it was not so much of a hike. ;) And I finally got a pic of some of us as we headed out to run with our kids - someday I'll hopefully get a picture when everyone is there. Amy is not in this pic because she was taking the picture. And some of the kids were at preschool on this particular morning - and Kassie and Melinda weren't here this time... so just imagine that sometimes this group is even bigger! It's a fun time and THIS is the real reason I've started getting into running because I can't use kids as an excuse and it's really fun to run with these girls during the week. It keeps me happy and healthy. :)

Becca had fallen down previous to this and was still cranky when I tried to take a picture - she's very dramatic, yes.

  1. You look great Sue!
I'm glad you're teaching the kids to enjoy a good hike.
Tell Becca that last summer her grandma was going down a slippery and steep trail and wound up on her hind end. If hiking was easy, everyone would do it.
This summer, when it's warmer, we'll have to do a picnic and walk up among the pine trees.

  2. What? Amy's only hiking with 2 kids strapped to her? That woman is a machine. I'm impressed you fit all that in and a yoga class too? Maybe you're the machine. When it comes to running you certainly are a natural, that's for sure. Thanks for making runs so fun!

  4. Where'd you go hiking is it nearby? I've been trying to find hiking places to take the kids, but hate it when it's really crowded.

  5. Shannon - We hiked at Thunderbird Conservation Park - google it for more information and directions and stuff... but it's VERY nearby, on 59th ave, just south of pinnacle peak rd. It's definitely desert hiking, but quite pretty and convenient!
