Yay for Moms!

I LOVE Mother's Day! I am blessed to have the most wonderful mother. Really... she has always been very giving and loving and continues to be so even now that I'm a mother myself. I love you mom! I also am so thankful to have a caring and talented mother-in-law. Since I live in Arizona, close to Ben's family, she's like my mom away from home. :) Isn't it fortunate to have such wonderful examples of amazing mother's to help teach us how to be great mom's ourselves? I'm definitely thankful!

Ben had to work on Mother's Day, so I got to be pampered a day early. I'm always so impressed with Ben's skills at spoiling me and getting the kids in on the action too. I slept in a bit and then awoke to my kids all dressed up and cute... Even though it was Saturday, Ben wanted them to look nice on our pseudo Mother's Day... such cute kids I have. I'm a lucky mom. :) Ben and the kids prepared a very fancy breakfast. And the table looked so nice with my lovely Mother's Day flowers. While I had been sleeping, Ben most definitely had been working hard to get this all ready for when I got up. It's especially impressive if you realize that this was his first day off in the past two weeks... just his luck that it would be Mother's Day. ;) Thanks sweetie.

My oh so handsome Jake

I didn't get a good pic of Ben, because he was busy busy in the kitchen, as you can see in the background

After our delicious breakfast, I got myself ready for the day and headed off to a Relief Society activity. We had a Women's Conference for our ward and it was lovely with fantastic classes and a great lunch. I've enjoyed getting to be on the Relief Society activities committee and learn so much from so many talented women in our ward. While I was away, Ben braved the stores with all 3 kids... so when I returned there was some lovely gifts awaiting me. I love presents! :) I got a bag of Dove chocolates from Emma (mmmm), chocolate covered macadamias from Becca (mmmm again), some new sunglasses from Jake (he's only one, but already a great gift giver!), and some fancy shampoo and conditioner from Ben (I usually just use various store brands... so now I feel like I'm at the salon when I wash my hair). So nice. That evening we picked up a sitter, and headed off to see Iron Man 2 on the IMAX. It was awesome!! And there's nothing that says Happy Mother's Day quite like Iron Man 2 ;)

This morning before heading to church, I thought I'd take a pic of the kids. They were looking cute, as always, and it's because of them that I get to be a mother...

After church we headed to "Aunt Emily's" house for Mother's Day dinner. (Emily is also an example of a fantastic mother that I get to learn from). We ate some delicious food, opened some gifts, and visited outside in their lovely backyard. The kids played and were silly - the girls love their cousin Adam...
