Playgroup and a Robot friend

I ventured out with the kids this morning to swim for playgroup at a friend's home... I don't usually do swimming outings with the kids unless I have Ben with me, because it's kind of a headache. But I decided to be fun... and I'm glad I did! Thanks Kim for the fun outing!

I love Becca with her goggles and floaties on... she's such a cute little goof

Jake loving on his snacks... and recently he's started giving me toothy camera smiles when I tell him to "say cheese!" - I love it

The kids enjoyed the FUN backyard... someday I hope to have a fun yard too! Oh pretty please!

I've mentioned before that we're slowly working on making Jake's room "retro space" themed. We found an awesome website with cool retro styled toy rockets and other fun trinkets... including a super cool 'sock robot'. Jake hasn't really had his very own 'special' stuffed animal to love (Emma has her bear and Becca has her monkey)... until now! We ordered this robot friend last week and it came in the mail today - it's as big as Jake! He already seems to have taken a fondness to him...

  1. Isn't it great when people with wonderful homes and yards are willing to share with us? I keep saying I need to make friends with someone with a mountain cabin (just kidding).
That's a really cool Robot doll. I like your theme.

  2. Love Jake's robot, it reminds me of "Promo the Robot" from my childhood memories of the morning children's show Rocketship 7 on Buffalo TV.

  3. I love Jake's hair. How do you keep it standing up so well? It's adorable!

  4. I am so in L-O-V-E with that sock robot!!! We're moving Caleb's room into big boy territory next week (yes - I know he's almost three....) with lots of John Deere and dump trucks and tractors. I am going crazy trying not to buy every cute vehicle decor item I see...

  5. Jessica- Jake's hair is far from your typical baby/little kid hair... it's seriously thick like adult hair, so it stands up with hardly any gel... even just a little water and it will stay spiky all day. :)

  6. It's never too early to teach ones children to embrace our future robot overlords! :D
