I had a very full day with the kids today - I'm tuckered out. :) But still have enough energy to blog I guess. Jake and Claire are now in bed... and the girls are 'staying up late' playing Kinect as I type this.
This morning we drove to Sahuaro Ranch Park for a
photo scavenger hunt. We took the kid camera and a notebook and tried to find something for each letter of the alphabet. Here is a collection of some of the photos the kids took (Emma, Becca, and Jake all took turns) with their kiddie camera...
grapefruit, doors, palm tree, light post, house, flower, kids, map, arch, birds, rooster

We picnicked, played on the playground, and then headed homeAfter naps and quiet time, we headed to the Cave Creek museum. It was quaint and cute, and the kids really loved it...

The cute old ladies running the place gave each of the kids a little activity book to work on - Becca enjoyed her dot to dot
hmmm... a bucket full of tootsie rolls?! don't mind if I do...
Our keen museum skills led us to find this very tiny button tucked at the bottom of this little exhibit. Emma pushed it and it made the rattlesnake (on the far right) rattle - this scared Jake- he kept his ears plugged for the next 5 minutes just in case someone decided to push it againOutside of the museum, there was some great outdoor paths with a little cactus garden, historic bandstand, and mining equipment...

Ben's dad calls outings like this "Arizona adventures" - it's fun exploring some of our unique surroundings. :)
That's a great Arizona adventure. The kids worked hard grinding the corn, it would make some yumi tortillas!
ReplyDeleteYou are a rock star mom! I love reading about all your fun outings with your kids. It inspires me to try some new things with my kids too.
ReplyDeleteSusan your scavenger hunt idea was awesome, totally going to have to do that, I just have no idea where here in this town! You are always doing so many fun things with the kids they will have great memories to treasure forever. I really miss all the great fun museums in Phoenix.
ReplyDeleteYou find the most interesting things to do.
ReplyDeleteIt looks very summery down there. We are just starting to catch up with that. Last week we had some snow on the ground, but tonight we are sleeping with the window open because it's getting sort of hot.
So cute. You are an amazing mom. I only hope to be half as cool as you are with your kids :)
