The next day we spent a good chunk of time waiting in line in Times Square for discount tickets to see Phantom. But it ended up being well worth it! After getting our tickets, we got ourselves some hot dogs - they had this delicious pineapple relish on them... after our trips, when we got home, Ben found a recipe and made something similar - we call it the Times Square dog. :)
Off to the Empire State Building - are we typical tourists or what?
It gave me the heebie jeebies being up so high... but we were so well fenced in, I definitely wasn't nervous about falling off! :)
We got more and more skilled at the 'stretch your arm out really far and take a picture of our faces squished together' trick...
We got dinner at the Shake Shack - as suggested by Stefani. It was the best! It had a line out the door, but it moved quickly, and was well worth any wait...
Yay! The time had come for our Broadway show! We had the best seats - only 6 rows back. It was amazing to be so close that we could actually see the actors expressions on their faces. :)
We didn't end up getting back to our hotel till almost 1 in the morning - when is the last time I stayed out late like that? It's been too long... those darn kids - I blame them. ;)
Next up: Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island and 9/11 Memorial
We saw Phantom when it came through Salt Lake many years ago. It was great.
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't love heights either, but what a view you got in the Empire State Bldg.
When I go on hikes, I sometimes have to suck up my fear (good judgement) and forge on to the pinnacles for the rewarding views there.
I feel like I am getting to go on a Virtual Vacation through all your pictures.
Our travel days seemed to end with your dads job change, so your travel pics are especially interesting.
