San Francisco Day 4 and Lake Tahoe

One last picture of some of our little crew walking the streets of San Francisco.  The kids got balloons at breakfast and were rather happy... until we popped them upon checking out of our hotel to get in the car... we are mean parents

Before leaving San Francisco, we spent the morning at the Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park.  We were in awe the entire time... it was all so gorgeous...

Emma testing out the meditation rock...

They had this really cute Japanese Tea House... so we ate a rather light lunch of little sushi rolls, edamame, and mochi ice cream.  The kids mostly just liked their strawberry drinks.  :)

We were all sad that our San Francisco trip was over.  It was really amazing.  I'm hoping that these pictures will help the kids remember their experiences - and I hope to go back again. :)  The next part of our trip was to go visit my family in Utah, so we decided to make a stopover in Lake Tahoe to split up the drive.  We enjoyed our hotel there and rested up and swam in the pool - the next morning we drove to the lake and it was COLD.  Like, it was literally snowing.  Not quite the weather we had anticipated.  But it was beautiful nonetheless...

What's this white stuff on the ground?

Wow mom!  Look at this huge pine cone!

Claire was grumpy and cold...

The kids were sure to take home some pine cone souvenirs...

Next on the vacation tour... Utah!

  1. First I read all your captions, then I go back and enlarge all of the pictures. You took some good ones.
You guys really experienced a dramatic weather change between San Fran and Lake Tahoe.
You just never know what the mountains are going to throw at you.
The pine cone feeders that the kids made will stay a fixture in my yard. The birds do like them.
